Emergencies and Natural Disasters

In the event of a natural disaster, emergency, inclement weather, and/or other environmentally challenging situation, TLC Health Care will do all that is possible to ensure your equipment needs receive an appropriate response.

For all equipment emergencies, call our office at 892-3037 for help.

During a natural disaster, TLC Health Care may not be able to reach your home for immediate help. If the safety of our staff is a concern, we will address your needs after all safety issues have been resolved. We will make all attempts to address your needs in a timely manner.

It is very important for you to tune to KPOC radio, 104.1 FM, for emergency reports, updates, and announcements. Also, if necessary, call the local police, EMT, or fire department for additional help.

If you are an oxygen patient and your electricity is off, make sure your oxygen sign is properly displayed on an exterior window or door facing the street so that emergency service personnel can identify your home as one needing immediate attention. Your home should be serviced sooner than others due to the medical need you have for the oxygen.

We will maintain operations as normal as possible to meet the demands of a disaster situation. However, we must consider the safety of staff and the priority of patient needs as we operate during these situations.

Our priorities during these events will be:

  • First, address patient oxygen needs,
  • Then, assist patients with compromised nutritional status,
  • Next, attend to other respiratory needs,
  • Finally, address non-critical equipment needs.
